Mahjong DF - My personal review

Mahjong DF - My personal review

By EnsenaSoft

This is the icon.

This is the opening screen.

There are four sets of layouts to select from.

I would rather see that layout of the next game rather than just a number as you see here.

Game is nice looking.

Once game is complete, you see this.
Number of stars is related to use of shuffle (maybe undoo, maybe time)
Will play a few times to verify.

Tapping on this takes you out of the app to a web page.
Don't tap on it

What I like about this game is:
- Easy to play
What I don't like about this game is:
- Game blares music right away, and no options available on entry to game.
- Options are not available until you pause a game.
- Animation to load all the tiles each game takes TOOOOO long.
- Tiles are too bright making it hard on the eyes, there is no option to change tiles.

Final Thought: Game deleted, don't like it.

Mahjong Towers Touch HD - My personal review

Mahjong Towers Touch HD - My personal review
By Big Fish Games

This is the icon.

Many tile layouts per section.
Here you see I have completed three layouts, they have the stars.
You cannot jump layouts, you have to unlock one at a time.

You get this once you clear your screen.
My score was X2 three times.
Lose a X2 for shuffling. (twice)
Lose a X2 for using UNDO.

Here I used one shuffle, so my score was a X2 twice.
Notice the two stars instead of three stars.

This is the standard layout I remember always playing years ago.

Here I am trying to get past that 2nd last layout from RAT level.
Would really like to just try out that next layout.

Another Layout.
This is one layout I like.

Another Layout

Another Layout
This one is with a different tile set.

There is an option to change the tile set and shut off music.

What I like about this game is:
- I like the standard delivered tile set.
- I like the the clarity of the tiles and stacks below.
- Very easy to use right from the get-go.
- I enjoyed unlocking layouts after layouts on Rat level.

What I don't like about this game is:
- I would like to pick any layout right from the start.
- I got stuck on the 2nd from last layout at RAT level. I wanted to skip on.
and try out the next layout and get to the next level.
- Was disappointing that you could not earn your way past RAT level.
- Can't try OX or any other unless I buy the full game, which I have no intention of doing.

I not sure how long I will keep the game.
I would rather have a constant ads at the top/bottom of the screen
than having not being able to earn next content without spending $$.

Some people play games to kill time, some people play because they like to earn within the game, and some both.

Sometimes I want to go in, pick an easy layout and be done right from the get go. If this is you, choose another App.

Sometimes I want to go in, knowing I want to have to satisfaction of advancing/unlocking, you get this with this game.

I have been going in and just picking the layout I want to play from within this RAT level. So this keeps me going for a bit without the need to buy. - And I wont buy.

But I would rather just find a game where all the layouts are accessible, whether it be from earning them in one way or another or just right away. If I find this. It will be my go-to Mahjong game.

If I wasn't too cheap to buy the game, this might be my go-to game. I LIKE it.

Mahjong on the iPad - Review - Part 1

Dowloaded this version of Mahjong today on my iPad.

Why? Because it appeared on my FB page to try out
and I never played Mahjong for quite some time

It was very easy to play, no learning curve at all.

This is the screen you get when you are finished the board.

What I liked about this is:
- No learning curve
- Easy to play
- Shuffle if no more moves
- There is a pause

What I did not like about this game is
- In middle while playing you get an advertisement which you have to x out of
- In middle while playing you get an advertisement which you have to wait for a count of 5 then x out of
- Between games you get an advertisement which you have to x out of
- Between games you get an advertisement which you have to wait for a count of 5 then x out of

OH did I mention the ads?
Well I played about 5 games then deleted the App!

In the middle of game play to get your concentration interrupted with an Ad,
I don't think so!!

Although I complain about ads, ads between games is ok, if they are fast play games every few games is ok, for longer games between games is fine. I wont buy games, thus for free games to have ads, that's OK for me, but they have to be at reasonable times.

Soduko - Getting back into it (Part 4)

I have so far tried three FREE Sudoko Apps on the iPad.

Big Bad Sudoku Book 3

This is what the screen looks like

The reason I chose to try this App is because of the dual number pad.
This gives the ability to put in a note with just one tap
I do like a cleaner, crisper screen than the above.

This is the screen that comes up when you complete the puzzle correctly.

I like the options you get to select your puzzle.

You can get the version I tried above here

Soduko - Getting back into it (Part 3)

I have so far tried two FREE Sudoko Apps on the iPad.

Sudoku Free HD

This is what the screen looks like

What I really like and the reason I chose this App is because of the dual number pad.
Also ability to put in notes, yet I expect all soduko apps would have this.
The clarity of the screen is important for me as well.
I like a clean screen.

This is the screen that comes up when you complete the puzzle correctly.

Completing the puzzle incorrectly, the APP does nothing but wait for you to do another action.
I would prefer a little feedback to indicate puzzle filled unsuccessful, but I guess they don't know if you are done or would rather figure that out yourself.

If you closed the app, stopped playing or got the end unsuccessfully. This screen appears upon re-opening the APP.

If you choose to continue the time will continue from where you left off.
If you choose start over the time will ALSO continue from where you left off.
I would prefer that it started over at 0:00 when I start over so I can see how long it takes to do that puzzle.
I would have expected if you say continue time contines, if you say start over it starts the time and puzzle over.
Once you start a puzzle, I never figured out a way to do a completely different puzzle, so you always have to get through the one you are working on, or worked on last.

What I don't like about this is you cannot re-do puzzles you already done.
I am not one who would remember a puzzle I already did, so I would get more play on this if you can just redo the puzzles at a later date.
I have no interest in buying additional puzzles.
Maybe when I am done I will uninstall it and re-install it to start over
This version does not let you do that.

You can get the version I tried above here

Soduko - Getting back into it (Part 2)

This handheld Soduko game has been lying around the house for years.

My dad bought it when he was into playing it.

I thought I might try it out since it's here.

It is not very intuative, so I wont be trying to learn how to use it.

I also don't like that it is not illuminated.

Old Electronic Suduko Game
This game boasts:
1 million random puzzles
Different levels
Six hints

If you have played Sudoku on the Nintendo DS, and also on the iPad it's unlikely you would switch to a gadget like this.

The Mackenzie Duncan Box Set

Title: The Mackenzie Duncan Box Set
Author: Adrianne James
Genre: New Adult, Paranormal Romance

Mackenzie Duncan's whole life is ripped from her by the teeth of a strange wolf with yellow-green eyes. Learning quickly that she now lived by the moon cycles was hard enough, but finding her heart torn between two hot Werewolves amidst the blood and violence her new life brought was almost too much to handle. When her new pack's secrets came to light, Mackenzie's conscious wouldn't let her stay quiet. Follow along the amazing journey as Mackenzie fights for what her heart wants and what her kind needs.

The Tempering, book #1

The Mythology department at prestigious Harvard University is tiny—and Mackenzie Duncan has just been selected as one of the lucky few. Her love for myths and legends is strong, but she never thought any of it could be real.

After being attacked by a large wolf while walking home alone, Mackenzie realizes something is not right. She heals quickly, is suddenly super strong, and is experiencing mood swings that can't possibly be normal. The myths she's studying aren't myths at all. Werewolves are real and she's one of them. Fear of what she is, and who she might hurt sends Mackenzie running from the life she’s worked hard to build–and straight into the arms of a handsome Were named Geoff and into the home of his pack. Living with her new pack takes the edge off her confusion and self-loathing, but the arrival of new pack members changes the dynamic, and tests Geoff and Mackenzie’s growing relationship.

The hardest part of being a werewolf is having no control and no memory of her time as a blood thirsty beast. When a moon cycle passes and she actually remembers bits and pieces of the night, she starts to ask questions, and the more questions she asks, the more she realizes she doesn't like the answers. Can she set aside her own sense of morals to belong to a pack that is like a family or will she leave everything behind yet again in search of a life she can be proud of?

Mackenzie Duncan found out that pack life wasn’t for her. Now she is running for the second time in the six months since she was bitten and turned into a Werewolf. But this time, she isn’t alone. This time, she has Geoff and Liam with her, two very hot Werewolves vying for her heart.

But her companions aren't her focus. The only thing she can focus on is getting far from her old pack and their murderous ways. Only, she doesn’t just want to run. She wants to warn every pack she can that their lives are in danger too. No one should be turned against their will like she was and no other pack should have to surrender to the ideas of a centuries old, power hungry woman.

Not only does Mackenzie have to deal with her crazy ex-pack leader sending people out to kill her, she has to keep both men at arm’s length (and that proves to be much more difficult than she thought), but she finds out more about her own life and heritage than she ever thought imaginable.

And suddenly, everything makes sense...

The Uprising, book #3

Ever since Mackenzie Duncan watched her skin knit together after being ripped apart by a blood thirsty Werewolf, her life has been anything but normal. After being part of a pack with more secrets than the FBI, Mackenzie left and tried not to look back. Her old pack leader Margaret, a Royal wolf hungry to regain the throne and rule over all the world’s Werewolves, made that impossible. Figuring out who to trust was full of heart break, but moving forward left her with a clear path ahead.

After Mackenzie found out that she, too, is part of the Royal blood line and that she had inadvertently endangered every pack she came into contact with, she feels that it is her duty to help stop Margaret at all costs before any more blood is shed or another life is lost.

Despite traveling the world with Liam, the man she loves, her life is in danger at every turn in her hunt for other Werewolves willing to stand against Margaret. Who better to fight then the blood line that shunned the role of power centuries ago?

Bloody battles surround her at every turn and when Mackenzie thinks all is lost, she has to find a way to embrace her past and accept her future.

About Adrianne James

Growing up, Adrianne couldn't get her hands on enough books to satisfy her need for the make believe. If she finished a novel and didn't have a new one ready and waiting for her, she began to create her own tales of magic and wonder. Now, as an adult, books s till make up majority of her free time, and now her tales get written down to be shared with the world.

During the day, Adrianne uses her camera to capture life's stories for clients of all ages and at night, after her two children are tucked in bed; she devotes herself to her written work. Adrianne is living the life she always wanted, surrounded by art and beauty, the written word and a loving family.

Paranormal Romance is Adrianne's most loved genre, but you will find she dabbles in contemporary stories as well. But one thing is for sure, Adrianne writes strong heroines and strong loves.
